Improved driving styles can generate 19% fuel cost savings
Recent trials have shown fuel cost savings of 19% can be achieved simply by adopting best practice fuel saving driving styles, such as gentle acceleration and braking, optimal use of cruise control and avoiding excessive idling, according to transport management specialists Isotrak.

Asda set to achieve 40% fuel savings by 2012
Asda revealed this week that it expects to have saved a remarkable 40% in fuel costs by 2012, thanks to its sustainable transport strategy in which Isotrak's Active Transport Management System (ATMS) is now playing an important role.
Asda's Strategy Director, Douglas Gurr, revealed in a TV interview for BBC Look North last week (see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7475185.stm) that the company has achieved 23% fuel cost savings over the past three years, and expects to achieve another 17% of fuel cost savings over the next three years yielding a total of 40% by 2012.
